University faculty, staff and students assisted at the Project Homeless Connect event at The Grounds. Talking with two 窪蹋勛圖厙 student volunteers is Karen Peterson, director of 窪蹋勛圖厙's Center for Academic Service-Learning and Civic Engagement.

The 窪蹋勛圖厙 and Housing First connected nearly 200 homeless individuals and families to much-needed services and resources all in one day and in one location. The event was held today, Friday, Jan. 30, at The Grounds.

Project Homeless Connect linked hundreds of homeless clients to crucial services in our community, said Dr. Margaret Moore-Nadler, assistant professor in the department of community and mental health in the 窪蹋勛圖厙 College of Nursing and board member of the Continuum of Care Committee for Mobile and Baldwin counties with Housing First.

窪蹋勛圖厙 300 窪蹋勛圖厙 faculty, staff and students along with other community volunteers were paired with people in need to help them navigate a wide array of services including legal aid, medical, health exams, mental health services, dental, housing and numerous other services and resources.

Our 窪蹋勛圖厙 and community volunteers were incredible, said Moore-Nadler. It was a very rewarding experience.
