窪蹋勛圖厙 raises $205,676 for United Way of Southwest Alabama

Since 1998, the University and 窪蹋勛圖厙 Health have raised more than $5.7 million for the United Way of Southwest Alabama through its annual campaign.  data-lightbox='featured'
Since 1998, the University and 窪蹋勛圖厙 Health have raised more than $5.7 million for the United Way of Southwest Alabama through its annual campaign.

窪蹋勛圖厙 and 窪蹋勛圖厙 Health employees and retirees contributed $205,676 to support the 2021 United Way of Southwest Alabamas annual campaign.

More than 1,780 current and retired 窪蹋勛圖厙 employees gave to this years campaign, which provides funding to 46 health and human service organizations in Choctaw, Clarke, Mobile and Washington counties to address key social issues in the areas of health, education and financial stability.

Dr. Alvin J. Williams, interim dean of the Mitchell College of Business, Susan Sansing, associate dean of finance and administration in the College of Medicine and Tommie Carlisle, retired 窪蹋勛圖厙 Health employee, served as this years 窪蹋勛圖厙 United Way Campaign co-chairs. Additionally, 172 窪蹋勛圖厙 and 窪蹋勛圖厙 Health employees served as campaign representatives within individual departments.

United Way of Southwest Alabama provides solutions for high-need individuals and families in our community and has a tremendous positive impact on the entire region, said Williams. The 窪蹋勛圖厙 family has been a strong contributor to this campaign for many years, and we are grateful to have the opportunity to give back in this way.

Jill Chenoweth, president of United Way of Southwest Alabama, emphasized the importance of the 窪蹋勛圖厙-UWSWA partnership. Donations from the 窪蹋勛圖厙 employee campaign have benefits that ripple out to the community as a whole, helping others and strengthening the community, Chenoweth said. For every dollar donated, United Way is able to provide $11 worth of programs and services to the community.
